Math: 2D- square, rectangle, circle, triangle, hexagon & 3D shapes- cylinder, cube, sphere, cone; working on identifying & drawing shapes, building 3D shapes, finding shapes around the classroom and school (using IPADs)
Reading- Snowmen at night story, Jan Brett author study: The Mitten, The Hat, The Umbrella, Town Mouse and Country Mouse, Armadillo Rodeo; comparing 2 stories, CVC words, reading simple text, sight word review & assessment, story sequencing, reading assessments with teacher- end of 2nd quarter
Writing- Opinion and narrative writing, "If I was a snowman at night" book, CVC words (3 letter words- consonant, vowel, consonant)
Science/ Social Studies- Winter, hibernating & migrating, Martin Luther King, beginning "Weather" unit- discussing different types of weather, types of clouds, "hot" and "cold" weather comparison
